"I grew up with powerful, headstrong women in my family - the neck of reason and crown of honor to our partners. This series was inspired by the undercurrent of strength often masked by a woman's external beauty; A misunderstanding that her softness, emotions, or sexuality are limitations or make her inferior to a raw, more tangible prowess.

 

Our physical and mental capabilities, our intuition and emotional versatility, and our history as icons of sensuality and conduits of life make us [women] immeasurably powerful. 

 

While creating this series, I thought of culture, age, race, economics, and faith, and how these factors influence our stories as women. These women represent different manifestations of the same strength we steward, which is too often underestimated."
