artwork and photography by michelle bāzis

"I paint fun stuff...and dance a lot!"

ABOUT

Michelle Bāzis is a writer, photographer, and artist based in Northwest Arkansas. She studied journalism and fine arts at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and currently serves as the managing editor of Bentonville and Rogers City Lifestyle Magazines.

While Michelle's photography style leans romantic and journalistic, her paintings are bold, whimsical, and sentimental–often featuring iconic characters and nostalgic symbols.

When she isn't working on creative projects, Michelle loves to travel and enjoy the outdoors with her husband, Ben.  You'll likely find her exploring the trails and lakes in Northwest Arkansas, browsing a weekend market, or catching live music with friends.

paintings

"I like for my art to feel joyful and approachable." Michelle often explains her paintings as a reflection of both the creative and technical sides of the brain. They're bold and sentimental, whimsical and detailed, playful and precise.
